Wraparound Family Services
The Wraparound Service supports youth and families with multiple needs to live together in the family home. It is intended for youth who are at risk of placement or who are currently in placement and may be able to return home earlier. The process focuses on the strengths of the family and encourages them to make positive connections in the community.
YouthLink’s Wraparound facilitators help the family build a plan and bring together a support team of friends, family, members of faith community as well as service professionals. This team shares resources, problem solves and coordinates activities. They develop an action plan in conjunction with the family.
The Wraparound model has proven to produce positive results. Unique characteristics of this model consist of the following:
The family directs the plan
The plans developed are flexible and specific to each family
Plans that do not meet the needs of the family are changed
The individual/family always has:
A choice about the services they receive
A voice in the manner in which they receive services
Ownership of decisions that affect their live
