Program Overview
Spark is an ongoing program designed to ‘spark’ imagination and ignite creativity in Scarborough youth aged 12 to 24. The COVID-19 pandemic brought significant challenges to the mental health of youth across Ontario, leading to increased feelings of isolation, anxiety, and uncertainty. Spark offers a therapeutic outlet for youth to process and cope with these emotions through music, video production, and podcasting. Music and visual arts provide a powerful way of expression, allowing participants to channel their thoughts and feelings into creative projects. This program not only fosters artistic development but also helps youth manage their mental health, build resilience, and develop essential coping skills in a supportive environment.
