Footprintz Program
The Footprintz program provides peer-led, culturally responsive supports for Black and racialized youth in Toronto’s Eglinton East community. Funded by the City of Toronto, the program focuses on violence intervention and prevention by helping youth build resilience, strengthen positive connections, and access meaningful opportunities. Through mentorship and community connection, Footprintz reduces the risks of violence while empowering youth to develop skills, leadership, and self-confidence.
Footprintz reaches and serves youth in the Eglinton East community by engaging young people ages 16–24 in programs that increase self-efficacy and community belonging. The program uses a peer support model to ensure youth in underserved communities have access to food, TTC fare, mentorship, and safe spaces. The ultimate goal is to support youth in developing skills that reduce violence and create lasting opportunities for success.
